Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, the acting president, reported assets of 8.7 billion won under his and his spouse's names. The asset declaration amount of Bang Ki-seon, head of the Office for Government Policy Coordination, was 5.1 billion won. Among the heads of research institutes under the Prime Minister's Office, the highest reported assets were those of Kwon Nam-hoon, head of the Korea Institute for Industrial Economics and Trade, who declared 8.6 billion won.
According to the '2025 Public Officials Regular Asset Change Report' released by the government’s Public Official Ethics Committee on the 27th, the assets of acting Prime Minister Han as of Dec. 31 last year were 8.7 billion won. This represents an increase of 389 million won from the previous declaration of 8.311 billion won.
The couple's deposits increased by approximately 370 million won compared to before. The acting Prime Minister's side explained that the increase in deposits is due to rising earned and financial income. On the other hand, the value of real estate including buildings owned by the acting Prime Minister and land owned by the spouse, as well as the prices of vehicles, saw a slight decrease. The value of the Rakai Sandpine golf membership held by the spouse increased by 23 million won to 179 million won.
Bang Ki-seon, the head of the Office for Government Policy Coordination, reported assets of 5.149 billion won under his name and those of his spouse and children. This is an increase of 67 million won from the previous amount of 5.081 billion won. The valuation of the apartment in Samsung-dong, Gangnam, Seoul, owned by him, and the community facility in Samsung-dong, Gangnam, owned by his spouse, increased by 62 million won and 46 million won, respectively. However, the deposits of him and his eldest son and daughter decreased.
Kim Jong-moon, the first Vice Administrator of the Office for Government Policy Coordination, and Nam Hyung-gi, the second Vice Administrator, reported 1.565 billion won and 1.035 billion won, respectively. It appears that the spouse and eldest son of Kim acquired virtual assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum worth 11 million won. Additionally, Kim Young-soo, head of the National Affairs Office, reported 500 million won, Yun Soon-hee, head of the Government Evaluation Office, reported 2.644 billion won, and Sim Jong-seop, head of the Social Coordination Office, reported 976 million won.
Son Dong-kyun, head of the Regulatory Coordination Office, reported 2.455 billion won, and Kim Yong-soo, head of the Economic Coordination Office, reported 2.321 billion won. Lee Sang-gil, head of the National Tax Tribunal, Shin Sang-kyun, head of the Anti-Terrorism Center, and Park Jin-ho, head of the International Development Cooperation Agency, reported 2.366 billion won, 1.457 billion won, and 1.792 billion won, respectively. The assets of Hong Jong-ki, head of the Prime Minister's Office, amounted to 5.182 billion won, while Kim Soo-hye, head of the Public Affairs Office, reported assets of 2.464 billion won.
Among the heads of research institutes under the Prime Minister's Office, Kwon Nam-hoon, head of the Korea Institute for Industrial Economics and Trade, had the highest assets, reporting 8.589 billion won. Sim Kyo-eon, head of the Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements, reported 5.371 billion won; Jo Dong-cheol, head of the Korea Development Institute (KDI), reported 4.994 billion won; and Koh Young Technology, head of the Korea Educational Development Institute, reported 4.942 billion won.
