Former President Moon Jae-in on the 26th urged the Constitutional Court to make a prompt decision on the impeachment trial of President Yoon Suk-yeol.
Former President Moon Jae-in stated on Facebook that "the chaos in society and public anxiety have reached their peak, and the anger of the people has reached a critical point."
He wrote, "The price our people will have to pay in the future is beyond description," adding, "The longer the impeachment decision is delayed, the more the cost will snowball."
He continued, "I believe the Constitutional Court is doing its best," and argued, "As someone who has witnessed the events unfold in real time, the people will find it utterly incomprehensible that the impeachment decision has been delayed this long."
He emphasized, "Only a prompt impeachment decision can protect constitutional values and the value of the Constitutional Court," and earnestly requested, "Even if it means staying up all night, I urge you to expedite the deliberation and drafting of the decision to ensure that the impeachment ruling does not extend beyond this week."
