Former People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon said on the 26th that the Seoul High Court granted Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party leader, a not guilty verdict in the second trial of the public election law violation case, stating, 'The Seoul High Court has issued a "lie license" to the representative,' and noted, 'The Supreme Court must quickly rectify this.'
Former leader Han issued a statement immediately after the not guilty ruling from the Seoul High Court's Criminal Division 6, saying, 'This verdict is against the law, against the truth, and against common sense held by the people,' and stated, 'If a "lie" becomes an "opinion" for those in power, and a guilty verdict is overturned to not guilty, there is no justice.'
He said, 'If this ruling stands, then no lie will be a crime in any election in the Republic of Korea,' and added, 'The Supreme Court must swiftly correct this erroneous ruling to ensure justice and democracy are upheld.'
