The People Power Party urged the Democratic Party to "immediately halt" its external struggle and public opinion campaign, claiming that the Democratic Party is ramping up its efforts, including the installation of a tent office in Gwanghwamun, ahead of the second trial verdict in the case of Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party, regarding a violation of the Public Official Election Act.

Kweon Seong-dong, the floor leader, criticized the Democratic Party for suggesting a re-impeachment of Acting President Han Duck-soo during a meeting of the party's policy committee, saying, "This is the first time in constitutional history that an acting president has been impeached, and now they are talking about re-impeaching that acting president.” He added, "Indeed, collective insanity is reaching its extremes."

He said, "The Democratic Party has gone one step further by leaving the National Assembly and setting up a tent office. The reason the Democratic Party hit the asphalt is not only because of the Constitutional Court's impeachment trial of the president. It is because the verdict in Lee Jae-myung’s election law violation case will be announced on the 26th."

He further noted, "That is why the Democratic Party is contesting the appellate verdict and has proactively entered into extreme external protests to suppress internal dissent."

He then requested for the external protests to cease and for a return to the National Assembly. Floor leader Kweon said, "What Lee Jae-myung should do now is not to spread base conspiracy theories on the asphalt, but to apologize for the assembly coup that submitted the impeachment motion 30 times. He needs to make a promise to the public that he will accept the verdict in the election law violation appeal on the 26th and immediately stop the external protests that incite mass unrest, and return to the National Assembly. This is the first step toward ending the civil war."

The People Power Party anticipated that the election law violation charge against Lee would maintain a disqualification from running for office in the second trial. Floor leader Kweon stated, "Lee has already received a sentence of one year in prison, with a two-year probation, in the first trial. Given this level of sentencing, it is expected that a disqualification from running for office will still apply in the appellate trial."

Rep. Yoo Sang-bum, the ruling party's deputy secretary of the National Assembly's Judiciary Committee, also projected, "It has been clearly confirmed in the first trial that false facts were published, and the evidence is overwhelming, so the original ruling of disqualification from running for office is likely to be upheld."

Rep. Yoo said, "For nearly 800 days during the delayed trial, we have witnessed the dismal reality of a politician using power to evade the law, solely to escape their judicial risks, which has disrupted politics and thrown the state into confusion. We expect the court to make a wise decision in accordance with the law and principles."
