Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, acting president, emphasized on the 24th to the cabinet members, "It is the mission of the cabinet to swiftly advance key issues directly related to the people's livelihoods."
Acting Prime Minister Han held a luncheon meeting with cabinet members at 12 p.m. the same day and stated, "I appreciate that the cabinet has worked unwaveringly for stable governance under the unprecedented situation of the president and acting president being impeached."
According to the Constitutional Court's ruling to dismiss the impeachment motion, Acting Prime Minister Han returned to his duties as acting president and Prime Minister after 87 days.
He remarked, "I have truly seen each cabinet member, including Deputy Prime Minister for Economy Choi Sang-mok, who has helped stabilize the government's core as acting president and Prime Minister, working hard through the media," and added, "We face many challenges ahead."
He continued, "No matter how difficult the circumstances may be for the government, when considering the internal and external crises facing South Korea, our cabinet members have no choice but to reset their resolve at every moment," and stated, "Whether all areas of governance—diplomacy, security, economy, trade, public safety, and administration—operate smoothly depends on the cabinet members and public officials nationwide."
Acting Prime Minister Han said, "Now we all need to join forces to provide greater comfort to our citizens and ensure that governance becomes more stable," and added, "I hope that we can continue the work undertaken by various cabinet members thus far, combine our strengths, and move forward together." He also noted, "I will take the lead in helping you all and working together to discuss matters."
