Park Chan-dae, the floor leader of the Democratic Party, urged the appointment of Ma Eun-hyeok as a Constitutional Court justice toward Han Duck-soo, the acting president who returned to work after 87 days due to the Constitutional Court's dismissal of the impeachment motion on the 24th.

On the same day, Park held a Supreme Council meeting at the tent set up in Lee & Ko Square, stating, "It is regrettable that the Constitutional Court dismissed the impeachment of Prime Minister Han," while also noting that "the Constitutional Court made it clear that failing to appoint three Constitutional Court justices recommended by the National Assembly is unconstitutional."

He added, "The acting president must fulfill the heavy duty of upholding the Constitution," and urged the immediate resolution of the situation where a justice who has ruled unconstitutional remains unappointed and to promptly request the appointment of a special prosecutor for the insurrection according to the law.

Regarding the impeachment motion against President Yoon Suk-yeol, Park stated, "I request that the Constitutional Court issue a ruling immediately," and added, "Designate the ruling date today, and please announce it tomorrow."

Earlier, the Constitutional Court dismissed the impeachment motion against Prime Minister Han on the morning of the same day. The opinions of the 8 justices were 5 in favor of dismissal, 1 in favor of acceptance, and 2 abstentions. The majority justices explained the dismissal reason, stating, "It cannot be definitively concluded that Prime Minister Han's legal violations correspond to a breach of trust to the public indirectly conferred by the appointing authority, the president."

The impeachment motion against Prime Minister Han passed the National Assembly plenary session on Dec. 27 last year. The grounds for impeachment raised by the opposition parties, including the Democratic Party, include five points: ▲ Conspiracy, tolerance, and aiding President Yoon's 'insurrection' actions ▲ Refusal to appoint three Constitutional Court justice candidates recommended by the National Assembly ▲ Avoidance of appointing a special prosecutor for the insurrection ▲ Refusal of the Kim Keon-hee Special Prosecutor Act ▲ Attempts at 'joint governance' with former People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon.
