Acting Prime Minister Han Duck-soo issued emergency directives to relevant ministries on the 24th to maintain security and law enforcement as well as manage disasters immediately after the impeachment ruling.
Acting Prime Minister Han noted, "The government will do everything possible to ensure that the people do not feel anxious in this serious situation, and we will run the state affairs thoroughly."
Acting Prime Minister Han directed the acting Minister of National Defense and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to "strengthen the military's readiness posture to unwaveringly protect the lives and security of the people." He further instructed the Minister of Foreign Affairs to "do their utmost to assure the international community that our government’s foreign policy stance remains unchanged while solidifying cooperation with the United States and allied nations amid an uncertain international situation."
To the acting Minister of the Interior and Safety and the acting commissioner of the Korean National Police Agency, he urged, "Please pay special attention to maintaining social order through managing assemblies and protecting the safety of key individuals, taking precautions against disasters resulting from violent protests, and respond strictly to all illegal activities related to this."
Regarding the wildfires that have occurred across the country, Acting Prime Minister Han stated, "The Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and other relevant departments must mobilize all available personnel and resources to combat the fires, while doing their best to ensure the safety of nearby residents and controlling entry into the mountains."
On the same day afternoon, the government plans to hold a meeting of ministers chaired by Acting Prime Minister Han to address urgent issues in the areas of economy, society, and security.
