The Constitutional Court expressed strong regret over the decision to conduct the ruling on Prime Minister Han Duck-soo's impeachment case before the ruling on President Yoon Suk-yeol's impeachment case.

Democratic Party spokesperson Jo Seung-rae said in a written briefing on the 20th, “We express deep regret regarding the Constitutional Court's decision that creates anxiety among the people,” and added this.

The spokesperson stated, “We express strong regret that the ruling date for the impeachment of Prime Minister Han Duck-soo was set before the ruling date for Yoon Suk-yeol,” and criticized, “The Constitutional Court has upheld the principle of first-in, first-out up to Minister Park Sung-jae. Why then is it breaking that principle and planning to rule on Han Duck-soo before Yoon Suk-yeol?”

He continued, “Isn’t the growing public skepticism that the Constitutional Court can't uphold its principles and is swayed by political claims?” and emphasized, “The Constitutional Court's breaking of the first-in, first-out principle regarding Yoon Suk-yeol creates anxiety among the people.”

He reiterated, “We express strong regret regarding the Constitutional Court's difficult-to-understand decision, which holds a significant responsibility in upholding the constitutional order, and hope that the ruling date for Yoon Suk-yeol is decided without delay and that he is removed.”

The Constitutional Court announced that it will rule on the Prime Minister's impeachment trial on the morning of the 24th. This is 87 days after the impeachment motion against the Prime Minister passed in the National Assembly.
