Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon said on the 15th that he would review all necessary measures, including imposing fines, regarding the tent set up near the Constitutional Court by the opposition party.
Mayor Oh noted in a post on Facebook that "the tent installed on the road without local government permission is clearly illegal" and said that "the opposition parties, including the Democratic Party of Korea and the Justice Party, along with the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, set up tents on the roads near Gwanghwamun and the Constitutional Court under the pretext of calling for impeachment," adding that "the overwhelmingly majority party addicted to impeachment is now mocking the law and intimidating the Constitutional Court."
Mayor Oh criticized, saying, "The Seoul Metropolitan Government and Jongno District Office consulted and verbally warned twice for the removal, but the opposition party is unyielding," and termed it "a profoundly selfish act that disregards public authority and citizen convenience for the sake of partisan interests."
Mayor Oh stated, "If a public party with an overwhelming majority of seats reigns above public authority in the heart of the city and commits illegal acts, the result will be a decline in national dignity," adding, "The Seoul Metropolitan Government will hold the overwhelmingly majority party strictly accountable for its illegal and unlawful acts."
