Representative Lee Jun-seok of the Reform Party registered as a preliminary candidate for the 21st presidential election.
The Reform Party announced that Representative Lee was the only applicant after the application deadline for the party's presidential preliminary candidates was closed on the afternoon of the 10th.
The Reform Party had initially set the cutoff criteria at a 7% voting rate among party members, assuming more than two preliminary candidates would register. However, with Representative Lee running alone, the party is also considering holding a vote for support or opposition regarding him.
The Reform Party will hold a party election committee meeting on the 11th to finalize the rules related to the upcoming presidential preliminary election.
