Lawmakers of the reform party, Lee Jun-seok, noted on the 7th regarding the court's cancellation of the arrest decision against President Yoon Suk-yeol, "The court's judgment must be respected," and expressed their deep regrets about the CIO and the prosecution's 'poor handling' of such a significant matter.
On the same day, Lee wrote this on Facebook. Earlier that afternoon, the Seoul Central District Court's 25th Criminal Division (Chief Judge Ji Gwi-yeon) accepted President Yoon's request for the cancellation of the arrest, who had been arrested on charges of being the leader of a rebellion.
Lee stated, "It seems that President Yoon Suk-yeol's arrest has been canceled due to procedural errors by the prosecution regarding the counting of the period for a preliminary examination of the validity of the arrest post-arrest," adding, "Additionally, the CIO's legal deficiencies related to this matter led to the existence of the CIO itself becoming problematic."
He further urged, "I demand a prompt clarification of the positions of the Attorney General, who has command responsibility for this chaos, and the director of the CIO."
