Gwangju Mayor Kang Ki-jung expressed his intention to attend the concert of Lee Seung-hwan.
On the 6th, Mayor Kang announced on his Facebook, "On May 3rd, the Lee Seung-hwan concert will be held in Gwangju. I will definitely buy a ticket and go," welcoming the event. He added, "It is a visit that will empower Gwangju."
Mayor Kang proposed the concert in Gwangju after the city of Gumi in North Gyeongsang Province canceled the reservation for Lee Seung-hwan's performance last December. In response, Lee Seung-hwan expressed his desire to hold it in Gwangju and applied for the venue at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center, scheduling the performance for May 3rd. The concert, which was canceled in Gumi, is generating significant interest as it coincides with the anniversary of the May 18th Democratic Uprising in Gwangju.
