On the 27th, National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik urged acting Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance Choi Sang-mok to appoint constitutional court judge nominee Ma Eun-hyuk.

During a press conference held in the speaker's office that afternoon, Woo noted, "The acting president's failure to appoint judges elected by the National Assembly through today’s ruling by the Constitutional Court infringes upon the National Assembly’s authority."

Woo said, "I request that Acting Prime Minister Choi expedite the appointment process to restore the nine-member system of the Constitutional Court."

Earlier, the Constitutional Court decided to partially grant the confirmation of authority infringement in a ruling concerning the authority dispute case filed by Woo against Acting Prime Minister Choi.

Woo explained that Acting Prime Minister Choi violated the National Assembly's authority to structure the Constitutional Court and elect judges by only appointing two of the three candidates selected by the National Assembly. The "authority dispute ruling" is the procedure in which the Constitutional Court adjudicates disputes over responsibilities and authority between national institutions.

Regarding the impeachment trial of President Yoon, Woo stated, "The impeachment trial is approaching a final ruling," and added, "The National Assembly will await the Constitutional Court’s final decision with a humble attitude."
