Ahead of the March 1st Movement Day, Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation announced on the 24th that it will launch the "Liberation Bread" in collaboration with the famous bakery Seongsimdang, located in Daejeon, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Liberation in 2025.

The minting corporation and Seongsimdang signed an agreement last year and jointly developed the "Liberation Bread." The "Liberation Bread," which was pilot-launched on Aug. 1 last year, reached a total of 21,870 units sold, achieving sales of 100 million won.

The minting corporation and Seongsimdang will sell the Liberation Bread on two occasions this year: March 1st and Aug. 15th, which is Liberation Day. The revenue from the sales of the Liberation Bread will be donated as sponsorship for job creation and revitalizing the local economy.

The collaboration between the minting corporation and Seongsimdang is not the first. In 2020, they jointly developed the "99.99 purity (also known as Gold Bar Bread)" to revive the local economy, which had been stagnant due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2022, they also introduced the "Zero Cookie" using local agricultural products and eco-friendly packaging.

Chun Sang-hoon, president of the minting corporation, said, "We embodied respect for the patriots and gratitude to the local community in the Liberation Bread," as the 80th anniversary of Liberation approaches.
