On the 23rd, lawmaker Ahn Cheol-soo of the People Power Party said, "After President Yoon Suk-yeol's final argument on Tuesday (25th), we will be waiting for the Constitutional Court's ruling," and added, "Whatever the outcome, we must pursue a future of stability and development, which is an undeniable fate for everyone."
Lawmaker Ahn held a press conference at the National Assembly's communication hall that morning and made this statement through the 'Declaration of Era Change and National Unity.'
He stated, "The Republic of Korea must be united as one," pointing out that "the Republic of Korea is a proud nation that has achieved enviable economic growth and democracy in the shortest time in history. However, we are now in a critical moment where the growth, development, and democracy of the Republic of Korea are stalled and heading toward catastrophe."
He mentioned three demands of the political community. Lawmaker Ahn appealed to the public and the political sector as follows: ▲ Era change and transformation ▲ Fundamental social and political reforms that have been halted since presidents Kim Young-sam and Kim Dae-jung ▲ The necessity of political change.
Lawmaker Ahn emphasized, "Korean politics has become so extreme due to ideological conflicts, regional division, generational divides, and now even divisions within factions, that it cannot be healed, driving the public into fear," and noted, "We must move beyond severe political strife and conflict toward unity. We must accomplish the era change and transformation, which is the spirit of our time."
