It is said that President Yoon emphasized the legitimacy of the state of emergency and mentioned the president's 'dissolution power' of the National Assembly, which is not included in the current constitution.
According to political circles on the 19th, the upcoming book by former representative Han to be published on the 26th, titled "Han Dong-hoon's Choice—The People Come First," reportedly contains a statement suggesting that President Yoon said, 'I could have dissolved the National Assembly, but I chose not to.'
Former representative Han reportedly also noted that he initially did not understand President Yoon's remarks but later came to see them as 'absurd ideas' after plans to create an emergency legislative body became known. The president's power to dissolve the assembly was included in the 8th amended constitution but was removed in the 9th amendment, meaning that there is no presidential 'power to dissolve the assembly' in the current constitution.
It is also said that the situation in which President Yoon denied ordering the 'arrest of politicians' was included in the discussions. During a meeting on December 4th last year, former representative Han asked, 'What was the reason for trying to arrest the ruling party representative?' President Yoon reportedly denied this, saying, 'There is no such fact at all. If I were to arrest politicians, I would have mobilized the Counter Intelligence Command, but I did not mobilize them during this state of emergency.'
Regarding the so-called 'Pyongyang drone' suspicion that North Korea attempted to send drones to induce an attack, it has been reported that the United States raised this issue.
Former representative Han is considering touring the nation and holding book concerts to meet with citizens along with his book release. His 21-year career as a prosecutor is omitted from the book introduction. There are interpretations that the former representative, who has initiated 'activity resumption,' is highlighting 'politician Han Dong-hoon.'
