Former People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon said on the 16th, “I will meet soon.” This is interpreted as signaling the resumption of political activities two months after he resigned due to the approval of President Yoon Suk-yeol's impeachment motion on December 16th last year. Kweon Seong-dong, the floor leader of the People Power Party, noted, “Anyone who is a member of our party can dream big.”

Former leader Han conveyed his recent situation via Facebook on the morning of the same day, stating, “During the past two months, I listened to many people and took time for reflection,” adding, “And I am writing a book.”

This is the first time former leader Han has personally sent a message since resigning from the party leadership on December 29th of last year. At that time, he said regarding the Jeju Airport incident, “I hope the fire authorities do their utmost to save even one more person.”

Political circles anticipate that former leader Han will make a full-fledged appearance at the end of this month. He is also reportedly preparing a message regarding political issues such as the 'constitutional amendment' which is being promoted by the ruling party.

Voices are also being raised within the party that space should be opened for moderate and expansive ruling party presidential candidates in preparation for the realization of an early presidential election.

Kweon Seong-dong, the floor leader of the People Power Party, said during a press conference held at the National Assembly on that day, regarding former leader Han's suggestion of 'resuming activities,' “It is not appropriate for the party leadership to comment on this in various ways,” while adding, “Anyone who is a member of our party can engage in politics and dream big. That is their free will and choice.”
