A high-ranking defector testified that North Korea's Kim Yo-jong, deputy director of the Workers' Party, has a husband who is a former deputy minister of the General Political Bureau over 180 cm tall.
According to Radio Free Asia (RFA) on the 12th, former North Korean ambassador to Kuwait Ryu Hyun-woo noted in an interview with RFA that he met the family of Kim's deputy while visiting the grave of Ko Yong-hui, the mother of Kim Jong-un, in September 2014.
Ryu noted to RFA, "At the time, I went to pay respects at Ko Yong-hui's grave with former Room 39 chief Jon Il-chun, who was known as 'Kim Jong-il's vault keeper,'" and stated that he directly encountered the husband of Kim's deputy on that occasion. It is said that Kim's deputy was married at least before September 2014.
He recalled that the man presumed to be Kim's deputy's husband was "dressed in military uniform and left a deep impression due to his tall height and handsome appearance," adding, "He was a handsome man close to 180 cm tall."
Ryu also claimed, "At that time, Kim's deputy's husband was working as a deputy director in the Military Division of the General Political Bureau, and he married Kim's deputy through a connection made in a special class at Kim Il-sung University."
Meanwhile, on the 1st of last month, North Korean state media reported the news of a New Year's celebration performance, revealing Kim's deputy walking hand in hand with a boy and a girl. However, Kim's deputy's marriage, pregnancy, and childbirth have not been officially confirmed.
