Park Chan-dae, the floor leader of the Democratic Party, said on the 11th, "It is inevitable that the Myung Tae-kyun special investigation is necessary to fully clarify the truth of the December 3 insurrection incident," adding, "We will ensure it can be handled by February."
During a floor strategy meeting that day, Park noted, "The Myung Tae-kyun Gate, where the couple Yoon Seok-yeol and Kim Keon-hee are implicated in public opinion manipulation, election manipulation, clandestine intervention, and abuse of power allegations, is identified as the direct cause and background of Yoon Seok-yeol's implementation of the December 3 martial law." The Democratic Party plans to introduce the Myung Tae-kyun special investigation bill that day.
Park stated, "It is known that the Myung Tae-kyun golden phone contains evidence of various involvement of the Yoon couple in nominations and the abuse of power," and added, "While they pretend to defend against the opposition's outrageous actions with absurd lies, the more substantial truth is that they instigated the insurrection incident to cover up the Yoon couple's criminal facts from being exposed to the public."
He continued, "Looking at the Myung Tae-kyun investigation report prepared by the prosecution last November, the fact that Myung Tae-kyun and the Yoon couple were closely colluding through opinion polls during the presidential election period is clearly revealed," and pointed out, "However, despite securing the key evidence, the golden phone, the prosecution has not conducted a proper investigation since then."
Park remarked, "There has been nothing substantial revealed regarding the ruling People Power Party's opinion manipulation during the presidential primary period and violations of political funds law, as well as illegal nomination interventions in by-elections, general elections, and local elections," and added, "There have been no summons of politicians involved in nomination interventions whatsoever."
He emphasized, "Why did insurrection leader Yoon Seok-yeol instigate the December 3 insurrection incident? Isn't it because he knew that if the truth about the Myung Tae-kyun Gate comes to light, he cannot avoid punishment?" and stated, "It must be clarified what illegalities and wrongdoings exist that should not come to light, which led to such an insurrection."
Regarding the delay in the appointment of candidate Ma Eun-hyeok for the Constitutional Court, he said, "Considering that the verdict originally scheduled for the 3rd has already been delayed by more than a week, I expect the Constitutional Court to make a quick decision and announce it," adding, "Acting President Choi Sang-mok must immediately comply with the Constitutional Court's decision."
After the meeting, Democratic Party spokesperson Roh Jong-myeon mentioned the necessity of the Myung Tae-kyun special investigation due to ▲ the fact that the Changwon District Prosecutor's Office investigation has virtually stalled ▲ and there has been no summons of politicians. He emphasized, "It has been understood that the Changwon District Prosecutor's Office investigation has effectively come to a halt. While the number of investigators had been increased to 8 at one time, it has now been reduced to 3," and added, "Especially important is the fact that there has not been a single summons of politicians."
