Kim Dong-yeon, the governor of Gyeonggi Province, suggested on the 10th, "Where are the ruling and opposition parties, conservatives and progressives in preparation for Trump 2.0?" adding, "Let's utilize the public assets of former President Moon Jae-in."
The governor wrote on his Facebook that "the know-how from the previous government's Trump 1.0 response will be a great asset."
He said, "The Trump-induced trade war is intensifying. A 25% tariff on steel and aluminum, and reciprocal tariffs by country are expected," adding, "While leaders of various countries are quickly responding with meetings with President Trump, it is regrettable that our government cannot even schedule a phone call."
He continued, "I have met President Trump three times during the G20 Leaders Summit on Financial Markets and the World Economy and the South Korea-U.S. summit, experiencing his style of seeking practical benefits," claiming, "Constructive dialogue and negotiation are certainly feasible moving forward."
The governor added, "And above all, I urge once again the establishment of the 'export breakwater' and the appointment of the 'economic plenipotentiary' that I have already proposed."
