The People Power Party claimed on the 8th, "The 'rebellion frame' built on the polluted statements and false memos of the Democratic Party and certain biased forces, as well as some individuals, is fundamentally shaking from its roots."
Chief Spokesperson Shin Dong-wook mentioned during the impeachment trial debate of President Yoon Suk-yeol that the statements of former National Intelligence Service Vice Administrator Hong Jang-won and former Army Special Warfare Command Commander Kwak Jong-geun cited changes from the early 'martial law situation.'
Spokesperson Shin pointed out, "In fact, the statements of the two individuals related to the directives from President Yoon, such as 'arrest politicians' and 'pull out lawmakers,' which paralyze National Assembly functions, have been revealed to be almost 'false.'"
He continued, "Rather, it has been revealed that there were clear manipulation attempts by the Democratic Party during the process of generating statements and memos," and added, "Given that the 'core reasons for detention' of arresting politicians and paralyzing National Assembly functions are shaking, it is correct to cancel the detention of the president, which had controversy over illegal arrest and illegal investigation."
Member Yoon Sang-hyun criticized on Facebook, "If the Democratic Party used Hong Jang-won's words as a weapon to lead the impeachment operation, it constitutes a judicial coup that shakes the very foundation of the rule of law in South Korea and is a serious crime," while Member Park Soo-young referred to "rebellion suspects Hong Jang-won and Kwak Jong-geun."
