Park Chan-dae, the Democratic Party floor leader, criticized Acting President Choi Sang-mok for filling senior police positions with 'Yoon Seok-yeol men' on the 6th, referring to the previous day's appointments made by Acting President Choi.
During the party policy coordination meeting that day, Park noted, "While the insurrectionist Yoon Seok-yeol and his remnants are rampaging, Acting Choi has carried out blatant favoritism for Yoon Seok-yeol's loyalists and executed appointments based on the Yongsan code."
Park emphasized, "Of the four people appointed by Acting Choi, three are supposedly from Yongsan." He pointed out that "especially Park Hyun-soo, who is the head of the Police Department at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and was promoted to the rank just below the Police Chief, has thrived during this administration, having started working with the transition committee of the Yoon administration before being dispatched to the Presidential Office's National Situation Room and later promoted to police chief."
He added, "The remaining three promotees are said to have completed what usually takes three years in just one year with a 'super fast track' and expressed suspicion that the Presidential Office and Acting Choi might be trying to obstruct police investigations by filling senior police appointments with 'Yoon Seok-yeol men.'"
Park further mentioned, "Recently, there was a false claim that President Yoon directed to 'bring in agents rather than lawmakers,' but former Special Warfare Command Commander Kwak Jong-geun confirmed in a recent National Assembly investigation special committee that 'the direction was indeed to bring in lawmakers rather than agents,'" adding, "The truth of the December 3 insurrection is being revealed through numerous testimonies."
He stated, "Nevertheless, Yoon Seok-yeol and the People Power Party are deceiving the public with absurd and irrational arguments," and added, "Yoon, who lies at every turn, must stop his blatant falsehoods."
