A dedicated organization to support the bereaved families of the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster that occurred at Muan International Airport in Jeollanam-do will be launched on the 20th.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport noted that the '12.29 Jeju Air passenger plane accident victim support group' will be officially launched on this day.
The support group will consist of more than 30 members, including officials from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, local governments (Jeollanam-do, Gwangju, and Muan), and the airport corporation. It will continue to handle support tasks for victims at the Muan Airport Integrated Support Center.
Park Jeong-soo, the head of the support group, said, 'While we have mobilized all available resources and personnel for accident recovery until now, it is now time to focus all efforts on supporting the victims and investigating the cause of the accident.' He added, 'All staff members of the support group will do their utmost with exceptional determination to help the bereaved families heal their pain and return to their daily lives.'
