KIA Tigers made the strong KT Wiz cry for three straight days. However, Kim Do-yeong's bid to become the youngest to hit 40 home runs was thwarted.

KIA won the 12th meeting of the season against the KT Wiz in the 2026 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League, 8-3, on Sept. 6 at Gwangju-Kia Champions Field. Starter James Naile pitched well with two runs over six innings, and Castro swung a hot bat with six RBIs as they swept the three-game series. They closed to a half-game behind the third-place LG Twins. KT, which lost three straight, fell 1.5 games behind first-place Samsung.
