The KIA Tigers made the strong KT Wiz weep for a third straight day. But Kim Do-yeong's bid to become the youngest to hit 40 home runs was thwarted.

KIA beat the KT Wiz 8-3 in the 12th meeting between the teams on Sept. 6 at Gwangju-Kia Champions Field in the 2026 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League. Starter James Naile pitched well with two runs over six innings, and Castro swung a hot bat with six RBIs as they swept the three-game series. They closed to within a half-game of the third-place LG Twins. KT, which dropped its third straight, fell 1.5 games back of the first-place Samsung.
