[Photo] 9-dan Lee Sedol steps onto Jamsil Stadium mound, throws ceremonial first pitch

On the 27th at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul, the 2026 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League game between the LG Twins and the NC Dinos was held.

The ceremonial first pitch was thrown by Go legend Lee Se-dol 9-dan. Lee Se-dol 9-dan turned pro in 1995 at age 12 and competed as a professional until 2019, amassing 50 titles across domestic and international tournaments and setting a record 32-match winning streak. At the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games team event, he hung a gold medal around his neck, and in an official match against the AI AlphaGo in 2016, he claimed victory, earning the honorable title of "the only Go player to beat AlphaGo."
