Ahead of major international events this year, including the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, men's head coach Issanayé Ramírez and captain Hwang Taek-Eui, and women's head coach Cha Sang-hyun and captain Kang So-hwi attended the press conference.
Women's head coach Cha Sang-hyun had an approval once rejected by the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee (KSOC) due to an issue with the selection process, but after reopening the recruitment, final approval was granted and Cha was confirmed as the women's national volleyball team head coach. Players involved in the championship series and free agency are scheduled to join on the 27th, and An Hye-jin, who is facing a drunk driving controversy, is likely to be excluded from the national team.
Men's head coach Issanayé Ramírez has set participation in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics as the ultimate goal. Korea men's volleyball will attempt to qualify for the Olympic main draw for the first time in 24 years through the 2026 Asian Championship, and will aim for its first gold medal in 20 years at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
