In the afternoon on the 20th, a news conference for the national volleyball teams was held at Olympic Hall in Bangi-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul.
Held ahead of major international tournaments this year, including the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, the news conference was attended by men's head coach Issanaye Ramirez and captain Hwang Taek-Eui, and women's head coach Cha Sang-hyun and captain Kang So-hwi.
Women's head coach Cha Sang-hyun had the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee (KSOC) approval rejected once due to an issue with the appointment process, but after reopening applications, received final approval and was confirmed as the women's volleyball national team head coach. Players involved in the championship series and free agency are scheduled to join on the 27th, and An Hye-jin, who is facing a drunk driving controversy, is highly likely to be excluded from the national team.
Men's head coach Issanaye Ramirez has set participation in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics as the ultimate goal. Korea men's volleyball will seek to qualify for the Olympic finals for the first time in 24 years through the 2026 Asian Championship, and will aim for its first gold medal in 20 years at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
