Held ahead of major international competitions this year, including the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, the press conference was attended by men's head coach Issanaye Ramires and captain Hwang Taek-Eui, and women's head coach Cha Sang-hyun and captain Kang So-hwi.
Women's head coach Cha Sang-hyun had an approval once rejected by the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee (KSOC) due to issues in the selection procedure, but after a reopened recruitment, she received final approval and was confirmed as the women's national team head coach. Players involved in the championship series and free agency are scheduled to join on the 27th, and An Hye-jin, who is embroiled in a drunk driving controversy, is highly likely to be excluded from the national team.
Men's head coach Issanaye Ramires has set participation in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics as the ultimate goal. Korea men's volleyball will aim to qualify for the Olympics for the first time in 24 years through the 2026 Asian Championship, and will target its first gold medal in 20 years at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
