The KT Wiz of professional baseball beat the champion LG Twins to take an Opening Day win.

KT exploded for 18 hits and defeated LG 11-7 in the 2026 KBO League Opening Day game at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on Mar. 28. KT set a rare mark as the sixth team in history whose entire starting lineup recorded hits on Opening Day.

KT rookie Lee Kang-min had three hits, tying the record for most hits by a high school–draftee rookie on Opening Day. Kim Hyun-soo tied the all-time Opening Day hits mark (20). KT starter Matt Sauer earned his first win, allowing three runs on five hits (one home run) and five walks with one strikeout over five innings.
