The KT Wiz of professional baseball beat the champion LG Twins to win the opener.

KT erupted for 18 hits and won 11-7 against LG in the 2026 KBO League opener at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on the 28th. KT set a rare record as the sixth team in history whose entire starting lineup recorded a hit in an opener.

KT rookie Lee Kang-min had three hits, tying the record for most hits by a high school–draftee rookie in an opener. Kim Hyun-soo matched the record for most career hits in openers (20). KT starter Matt Sauer earned his first win after allowing three runs on five hits (one home run), five walks and one strikeout over five innings.
