The KT Wiz of professional baseball beat the defending champion LG Twins to win the opener.
On Mar. 28 at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul, KT exploded for 18 hits of all kinds in the 2026 KBO League opening game against LG and won 11-7. KT set a rare feat as the sixth team in history whose entire starting lineup recorded a hit on opening day.
KT rookie Lee Kang-min collected three hits, tying the record for most hits by a high school–drafted rookie in an opening game. Kim Hyun-soo matched the all-time opening day hits record (20). KT starter Matt Sauer earned his first win, allowing three runs on five hits (one home run), five walks, and one strikeout over five innings.
