KT Wiz of professional baseball beat defending champion LG Twins to win the season opener.
On the 28th at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul, KT erupted for 18 hits in the 2026 KBO League opening game against LG and won 11-7. KT set the rare record of becoming the sixth team in history with hits by all nine starters on Opening Day.
Rookie Lee Kang-min of KT collected three hits, tying the record for most hits by a high school-draftee rookie in an opener. Kim Hyun-soo tied the all-time Opening Day hits record (20). KT starter Matt Sauer earned his first win after allowing three runs on five hits (one home run), five walks, and one strikeout over five innings.
