The KT Wiz of professional baseball beat the champion LG Twins to claim an Opening Day win.
KT erupted for 18 hits and won 11-7 against LG in the 2026 KBO League opener at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul on the 28th. KT set a rare mark as the sixth team in history whose entire starting lineup recorded a hit on Opening Day.
KT rookie Lee Kang-min had three hits, tying the record for most hits by a high school–draftee rookie in an Opening Day game. Kim Hyun-soo tied the all-time Opening Day hits record (20). KT starter Matt Sauer earned the first win after allowing three runs on five hits (one home run), five walks and one strikeout in five innings.
