The KT Wiz of professional baseball beat the defending champion LG Twins to win the opener.
On the 28th at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul, KT erupted for 18 hits in the 2026 KBO League opening game against LG and won 11-7. KT recorded the sixth all-time feat of every starting batter getting a hit in an opener.
KT rookie Lee Kang-min had three hits, tying the record for most hits by a high school–graduate rookie in an opener. Kim Hyun-soo tied the all-time record for most hits in openers (20). KT starter Matt Sauer earned his first win after allowing three runs on five hits (one home run), five walks, and one strikeout over five innings.
