The KT Wiz of professional baseball beat the defending champion LG Twins to win the season opener.
On the 28th at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul, KT exploded for 18 hits in the 2026 KBO League opening game against LG and won 11-7. KT set a rare mark as the sixth team ever with every starter recording a hit on opening day.
KT rookie Lee Kang-min had three hits, tying the record for most hits by a high school–draftee rookie in an opening game. Kim Hyun-soo tied the all-time opening day hits mark (20). KT starter Matt Sauer earned his first win, allowing three runs on five hits (one home run), five walks, and one strikeout in five innings.
