The KT Wiz of professional baseball beat the defending champion LG Twins to win the opener.
On the 28th at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul, KT exploded for 18 hits in the 2026 KBO League opening game against LG and won 11-7. KT set a rare record as the sixth team ever to have every starter record a hit in an opener.
KT rookie Lee Kang-min collected three hits, tying the record for most hits by a high school–draftee rookie in an opener. Kim Hyun-soo tied the all-time record for most hits in openers (20). KT starter Matt Sauer earned his first win, allowing three runs on five hits (one home run) and five walks with one strikeout over five innings.
