The KT Wiz of professional baseball beat the champion LG Twins to claim an Opening Day win.
On Mar. 28 at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul, KT erupted for 18 hits in the 2026 Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) League opener against LG and won 11-7. KT set a rare mark as the sixth team in history to have every Opening Day starter record a hit.
KT rookie Lee Kang-min had three hits, tying the record for most hits by a high school–draftee rookie in an Opening Day game. Kim Hyun-soo matched the record for most career Opening Day hits (20). KT starter Matt Sauer earned his first win, allowing three runs on five hits (one home run) and five walks with one strikeout in five innings.
