Professional baseball club KT Wiz beat defending champion LG Twins to win the season opener.

On Mar. 28 at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul, KT exploded for 18 hits in the 2026 KBO League opening game against LG and won 11-7. KT set the rare mark of every starter recording a hit in an opener for the sixth time in history.

KT rookie Lee Kang-min collected three hits, tying the record for most hits by a high school–draftee rookie in an opening game. Kim Hyun-soo tied the all-time record for most hits in openers (20). KT starter Matt Sauer earned his first win, allowing three runs on five hits (one home run) and five walks with one strikeout over five innings.
