The KT Wiz of professional baseball beat the champion LG Twins to take an Opening Day win.
KT exploded for 18 hits to defeat LG 11-7 in the 2026 KBO League opener at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on the 28th. KT set the sixth all-time Opening Day record with hits by every member of the starting lineup.
KT rookie Lee Kang-min collected three hits, tying the record for most hits by a high school–drafted rookie in an Opening Day game. Kim Hyun-soo tied the all-time Opening Day hits record (20). KT starter Matt Sauer earned his first win after allowing three runs on five hits (one home run), five walks and one strikeout over five innings.
