The KT Wiz of professional baseball beat the defending champion LG Twins to earn an Opening Day win.
On Mar. 28 at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul, KT erupted for 18 hits in the 2026 KBO League opener against LG and won 11-7. KT achieved the league's sixth all-time Opening Day feat of every starting player recording a hit.
KT rookie Lee Kang-min collected three hits, tying the record for most hits by a high school–draftee rookie in an Opening Day game. Kim Hyun-soo succeeded in tying the all-time Opening Day hits mark (20). KT starter Matt Sauer earned his first win after allowing three runs in five innings on five hits (one home run), five walks, and one strikeout.
