On the 9th at the Tokyo Dome in Japan, the World Baseball Classic (WBC) group stage Group C game between Korea and Australia was held.

In Group C, Japan secured first place in the group with three wins and advanced to the quarterfinals. Australia is 2-1, Taiwan is 2-2, Korea is 1-2, and the Czech Republic has three losses.

For the Korea WBC national team to advance to the quarterfinals, it must beat Australia by at least five runs while allowing no more than two runs.

With two outs in the bottom of the third, Korea's Noh Kyung-eun fielded Australia's Curtis Mead on a grounder, headed to the dugout, and celebrated with Lee Jung-hoo. Mar. 9, 2026
