A miracle in Tokyo. The Korea WBC national team advanced past the first round for the first time in 17 years.

Korea on Mar. 9 at the Tokyo Dome in Japan won over Australia in Group C of the first round of the "2026 World Baseball Classic (WBC)." With the result, Korea finished the group round at 2-2 and, edging Australia and Taiwan on the fewest runs allowed, advanced past the first round for the first time since 2009, a span of 17 years. Now Korea will board a charter flight to Miami.
