On the 8th, at Tokyo Dome in Japan, the 2026 World Baseball Classic (WBC) Round 1 Group C group stage game between Korea and Taiwan took place.

Korea suffered a close 8-6 loss to Japan the day before (the 7th). Having previously beaten the Czech Republic 11-4, Korea moved to 1-1 and must go all out in the remaining games against Taiwan and Australia.
