On the 8th at the Tokyo Dome in Japan, the Group C first-round pool game of the 2026 World Baseball Classic (WBC) between Korea and Taiwan was held.

Korea suffered a close 8-6 loss to Japan on the 7th. Having previously beaten the Czech Republic 11-4, Korea moved to 1-1 and must stake everything on the remaining games against Taiwan and Australia.

With two outs and a runner on second in the top of the 8th, Taiwan's Stuart Fairchild hit a go-ahead two-run homer to right, celebrating with teammates. 2026.03.08
