On the 8th at the Tokyo Dome in Japan, the 2026 World Baseball Classic (WBC) first-round Group C pool game between Korea and Taiwan was held.

Korea suffered a close 8-6 loss to Japan the day before (the 7th). Having beaten the Czech Republic 11-4 earlier, Korea moved to 1-1 and must stake everything on the remaining games against Taiwan and Australia.

With two outs and a runner on second in the top of the eighth, Taiwan's Stuart Fairchild blasted a go-ahead two-run homer to right, celebrating. 2026.03.08
