On the 8th at Tokyo Dome in Japan, the 2026 World Baseball Classic (WBC) first-round Group C group stage game between Korea and Taiwan was held.

Korea suffered a narrow 6-8 loss against Japan the day before (the 7th). Having previously beaten the Czech Republic 11-4, Korea moved to 1-1 and must go all in on the remaining games against Taiwan and Australia.
