On the 8th at Tokyo Dome in Japan, the 2026 World Baseball Classic (WBC) first-round Group C group stage game between Korea and Taiwan was held.

Korea narrowly lost 8-6 to Japan the day before (on the 7th). Having earlier beaten the Czech Republic 11-4, Korea moved to 1-1 and must go all out in the remaining games against Taiwan and Australia.
