On the 8th at the Tokyo Dome in Japan, the 2026 World Baseball Classic (WBC) first-round Group C pool play game between Korea and Taiwan was held.

Korea lost a close one, 6-8, in the game against Japan on the 7th. Having previously beaten the Czech Republic 11-4, Korea moved to 1-1 and must stake everything on the remaining games against Taiwan and Australia.

In the top of the seventh with one out and runners on first and second, Korea's Dane Dunning is turning Taiwan's Lin Jia-zheng into a 5-4-3 double play on a grounder to third. The first baseman is Shay Whitcomb. 2026.03.08
