On the 5th at Tokyo Dome in Japan, the World Baseball Classic (WBC) group stage Group C game between Korea and the Czech Republic took place.

Korea started So Hyeong-jun, and the Czech Republic started Daniel Padisak.

Having reached the semifinals in 2006 and finished runner-up in 2009, Korea failed to advance to the quarterfinal knockout stage in all three subsequent tournaments (2013, 2017, 2023). In this tournament, it is aiming to reach the main knockout stage for the first time in 17 years.
